Carlisle & Bray Enterprises has hired Leigha Phelps-McMullen to lead business development for the company and its subsidiaries, C&B Marine, C&B Energy Services, and C&B Repair & Maintenance.
Phelps-McMullen comes to the company from the largest inland-rivers dry-cargo barge carrier in the country – the Ingram Barge Company, based in Nashville, Tenn.
Phelps-McMullen’s work at C&B is reviewing and providing legal advice on transactions, contracts, employment laws, maritime laws, property-damage claims, and all other legal aspects of the company’s business. She also will focus on business development and working to expand the company’s customer base.
“Being in the barge industry means that we are governed by a unique set of laws and guidelines,” Phelps-McMullen said. “My experience and understanding of these laws make me uniquely qualified to provide legal and business development guidance to C&B and help the company grow in the future.”
A native of southwest Kentucky, Phelps-McMullen received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with a minor in Pre-Law and Communications from Northern Kentucky University in 2011. After graduating, she attended the Salmon P. Chase College of Law and obtained her law degree in 2014.
